Class: Spring Equinox Pressed Floral Lanterns

March 20th marks the spring equinox, the first moment in the year when day and night are of equal length. Come join us this week as we express gratitude for this transitional season and the emergence from darkness into light by making our very own botanical lantern. Our class table will be adorned with gorgeous pressed florals and you will be able to pick your favorites and then arrange them as your intuition guides to bring your beautiful lantern into being. Completed lanterns last throughout the year and are a magical twinkling way to bring botanical beauty into your home.

Come join us for a relaxing, meditative hour of creative collage. Our class table will be adorned with a paper botanical treasure trove - floral still life photographs, vintage botanical illustrations, ditsy floral stationery prints and wallpaper samples, and more. Spend a lovely hour among kindred floral-loving spirits picking your favorites and then collaging them into your very own floral still life. At the end of the hour, you'll be surprised by the unique and beautiful masterpiece your handiwork has brought to life!

Class: Unlocking Creativity with Fast Painting

We're offering this class again because it's one of our most popular! Come unlock your creativity with one of our favorite freeing exercises - fast painting! We'll spend the first 45 minutes of class learning botanical painting techniques and then we'll set the timer for 10 minutes and see what masterpieces we can create when we spend less time worrying about perfection. Come experience the most wonderful exercise for freeing your mind from limiting self-talk ("I'm bad at art") and surprise yourself with the beauty you're able to bring into being in just 10 minutes!

Class: Painting the April Garden
Saturday, April 19th @ 10:00 - 11:00 am
Join us as we revel in the miracle of spring unfolding in the garden and capture the joy of the season in our original watercolor floral still lifes. Our inspiration will be fresh cut blooms from the Sew & Bloom garden (possibilities include daffodils, hyacinth, bluebells, muscari, tulips, and more). We'll discuss watercolor floral painting techniques and then bring our favorites to life in loose watercolor strokes as we paint. Come spend a meditative and joy-filled hour among kindred floral-loving spirits and fragrant spring blooms.

Gathering: Our Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt (for Grown Ups!)
Saturday, April 19th @ 3:00 - 4:00 pm
Because we believe it's a shame to grow out of fun, we're hosting our second annual Easter Egg Hunt for grown-ups! Beautiful painted, paper-quilled, and patchwork fabric eggs will be hidden throughout the shop and some will even be marked with special prizes (everything from a free book to a free group class for one lucky winner!) At the end, your basket will be full and you'll be given 10% off any egg you find! Why should the littles have all the fun? Come join us and spend a laughter filled hour with other floral-loving kindred spirits!

You've asked for us to offer a way to discuss uplifting books in community and we've listened! We'll be celebrating Independent Bookstore Day by officially launching our 2025-6 in-shop BOOK CLUBS! We'll be running two 8 session book discussion groups - one for GARDEN LOVERS and another for TEXTILE & ART LOVERS. We'll be taking sign ups for these on a first-come, first-serve basis, beginning at 11 when we open. Each book club is open to Sew & Bloom members, is limited to 8 participants, and will run for 8 sessions (1x/month from 10-11 on Saturday mornings from May 2025 to March 2026 - no sessions in July, August, or December.) Celebrate a Special Occasion
Did you know that you can celebrate a special birthday, family reunion, or team milestone with us? We've hosted everything from a gals' night birthday celebration to a work team bonding outing to a family workshop for three generations. We will tailor the class to your group's interests. Examples of possible workshops include:

Celebrating a birthday by creating a floral still life - Each attendee paints a flower in honor of the birthday guest and then everyone collages their flowers onto a shared keepsake canvas - a joyful, memorable, and fun-filled way to make new memories and celebrate a special day!

Team bonding through fast bouquet painting - Everyone loves this workshop where we tap into our inner artists through expressive floral painting. People see new sides of their colleagues, appreciate all their collective creative abilities, and everyone leaves with their very own floral masterpiece memento of this shared experience.

Celebrating family togetherness by creating a family bouquet - each attendee paints their birth month flower and then everyone collages their flower into a collective family bouquet that can be framed as a symbol of family love and a memento of this shared time together.
